The Ehlers-Danlos Society

Bogi Eliasen is Executive Director of the Movement Health Foundation and an Honorary Fellow in Futures of Health at the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies. Born in the Faroe Islands and trained in political science and international law at Aarhus University, with executive education at Harvard Kennedy School, he leads global efforts to scale data-driven solutions for cancer and cardio-metabolic diseases, especially in middle-income settings. A pioneer of population genomics, he conceived FarGen, the first national genome project, and founded the Nordic Health 2030 Movement to advance preventative care. Eliasen’s cross-sector impact earned him the 2019 HIMSS Future50 International Achievement Award.
He co-chairs WHO’s Strategic Partners’ Initiative for Data and Digital Health, sits on the World Economic Forum’s Strategic Advisory Group on Digital Health, and is vice-chair of HIMSS Nordic. As a Richard von Weizsäcker Fellow at the Robert Bosch Academy he explores health-system renewal across Europe and Latin America. Eliasen also guides Phase V work on decentralized, digital clinical trials and acts as an ambassador for the Sciana Health Leaders Network.
A self-described knowledge broker, he integrates futures thinking, genomics and digital innovation to build bridges between personal and public health and to accelerate secondary prevention worldwide for all.
