Florence Berteletti

Florence Berteletti has over 25 years of international experience in policy and advocacy, spanning fiscal policies for health, tobacco control, NCD prevention and risk factors, and alcohol policy. She has been Secretary General of the European Alcohol Policy Alliance (Eurocare) since August 2021. Eurocare is a network of non-governmental and public health organisations across Europe advocating for the prevention and reduction of alcohol-related harm. Its mission is clear: “Alcohol, less is better.” Eurocare receives no funding from, and does not engage in dialogue with, the alcohol industry or its affiliates.

Previously, Florence led global policy and advocacy at the World Heart Federation (WHF), and before that served as Director of the Smoke Free Partnership (SFP), a coalition of 52 civil society organisations committed to implementing the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) in Europe. Under her leadership, SFP received the WHO World No Tobacco Day Award (2011) and the Luther L. Terry Award (2015).

Throughout her career, Florence has also contributed her expertise as a Board member of several EU and international advisory groups, including the CRUK/Bupa Foundation Cancer Prevention Initiative chaired by Professor Sir Michael Marmot.
