Aedan Kaal

Aedan Kall is currently studying medicine at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). He combines his academic background with an active role in patient advocacy and health policy. Through his involvement with the FH Europe Foundation, the EPF Youth Group, Stichting LEEFH and Global Heart Hub, he works to raise awareness, strengthen education, and push for equitable access to care, especially for people living with inherited lipid conditions, such as elevated Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)], familial hypercholesterolaemia (both HeFH and HoFH), and familial chylomicronaemia syndrome (FCS), as well as broader (chronic) health challenges worldwide.

He is particularly driven by the need for early detection, better integration of patient voices, and (young) patient participation in shaping the future of healthcare. Whether he is contributing behind the scenes or speaking on an international stage, he strives to bridge the gap between clinical knowledge and lived experience. As a certified patient ambassador, he aims to support stronger systems that listen, include, and prevent.
